Diane C. Fujino

Diane Fujino is Chair of the Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her teaching and research focus on Japanese American history, Asian American activism, and Afro-Asian solidarities. Her books include: Heartbeat of Struggle: The Revolutionary Life of Yuri Kochiyama ; Samurai among Panthers: Richard Aoki on Race, Resistance, and a Paradoxical Life ; and Wicked Theory, Naked Practice: A Fred Ho Reader (as editor). Her activist work focuses on Asian American issues, political prisoners, antiwar struggles, education, and the development of community and the commons, including a community studies program at UCSB.
