Of the twenty-four Japanese American recipients, twenty-one were honored for their service during World War II. <i>Beyond the Call of Duty</i> was one of eight exhibitions in the Little Rock, Arkansas, area that were part of the <i>Life Interrupted</i> project, a collaboration between JANM and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
