Masumoto developed the 45-minute piece as part of her graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 2011. In 2013, she performed the piece at two <a href=\"/wiki/Days_of_Remembrance\" title=\"Days of Remembrance\">Days of Remembrance</a> in California and in various other venues throughout the state.
