\n \n Allan W. Austin\n \n is Professor of History at Misericordia University. His publications include\n \n Asian American History and Culture: An Encyclopedia\n \n (Armonk, New York, 2010, co-edited with Huping Ling);\n \n Space and Time: Essays on Visions of History in Science Fiction and Fantasy Television\n \n (Jefferson, North Carolina, 2010, co-edited with David C. Wright Jr.); and\n \n From Concentration Camp to Campus: Japanese American Students and World War II\n \n (Urbana, Illinois, 2004). His latest book is\n \n Quaker Brotherhood: Interracial Activism and the American Friends Service Committee\n \n , 1917-1950 (Urbana, Illinois, 2012), and he and is currently researching superheroes and race in the American experience.\n
