Leong\n  </b>\n  is associate professor of Women and Gender Studies and Asian Pacific American Studies in the School of Social Transformation, and affiliate faculty of History and Film and Media Studies at Arizona State University. Her scholarship focuses on the intersections of gender, race, and nation, particularly in relation to United States and Asian American history. Her book,\n  <i>\n   The China Mystique: Pearl S. Buck, Anna May Wong, Mayling Soong, and the Transformation of American Orientalism\n  </i>\n  was published by the University of California Press in Summer 2005. She co-coordinated the Japanese Americans in Arizona Oral History Project, a collaboration with the JACL Arizona chapter, and is co-editing a book based on the collected oral histories.
