John Streamas

John Streamas is a biracial Japanese American, shin-issei, born in Tokyo during a polio scare. His degrees in English come from Miami University and Syracuse University, and his PhD in American Culture Studies comes from Bowling Green, where he studied under E. San Juan Jr and Delia Aguilar. An associate professor in Comparative Culture, Gender, and Race Studies at Washington State University, he teaches courses in multicultural literature, social justice, Asian American popular culture, immigration, and the politics of time and space; and he writes fiction, poetry, short plays, and lyric essays.
