Scott Kurashige

Scott Kurashige is director of the Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies Program at the University of Michigan. He is the author of The Shifting Grounds of Race: Black and Japanese Americans in the Making of Multiethnic Los Angeles (Princeton University Press, 2008) and co-author with Grace Lee Boggs of The Next American Revolution: Sustainable Activism for the Twenty-First Century (University of California Press, 2011). He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in History and minors in Afro-American Studies and Economics (1990) and from UCLA with an MA in Asian American Studies (1996) and a PhD in U.S. History (2000).
