Tom Coffman

Tom Coffman is an independent writer/producer. He authored Catch A Wave, which traced the development of the Democratic Party in Hawaii; Nation Within, The History of America's Occupation of Hawaii; The Island Edge of America and, most recently, I Respectfully Dissent: A Biography of Edward H. Nakamura. His documentary film The First Battle/PBS 2005 and short film Ganbare/standing exhibit, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i, are antecedents of his current research and writing project about Yoshida, Ching and the Morale Section. Other documentary films include Arirang: The Korean American Journey and Ninoy Aquino and the Rise of People Power.
