Kokaido, Japanese American clubhouse

The Kokaido was built in 1932 and was a focal point for activities of the Japanese American community in Bellevue, Washington. This photograph was taken shortly after the mass removal in 1942.

This program took place at the Nippon Kan Theatre in Seattle's Nihonmachi area. The Lotus group was affiliated with the Seattle Buddhist Church. Lotus was an association for young church members.
