Yasuo Abiko (1910–88), a second-generation San Francisco based newspaper publisher and editor, reestablished the family newspaper after World War II as the\n <i>\n Nichibei Times\n </i>\n . The prewar English section editor of the\n <i>\n <a class=\"mw-redirect encyc notrg\" href=\"/Nichibei_Shimbun/\" title=\"Nichibei Shimbun\">\n Nichibei Shimbun\n </a>\n </i>\n , the newspaper founded by his father\n <a class=\"encyc notrg\" href=\"/Kyutaro_Abiko/\" title=\"Kyutaro Abiko\">\n Kyutaro\n </a>\n , Abiko was incarcerated in the\n <a class=\"encyc notrg\" href=\"/Topaz/\" title=\"Topaz\">\n Topaz\n </a>\n , Utah, concentration camp and the newspaper shut down after the family's forced removal. After resettling in Philadelphia, he returned to San Francisco in January 1946 and resumed publishing the paper in May.
