Yasuo Abiko (1910–88), a second-generation San Francisco based newspaper publisher and editor, reestablished the family newspaper after World War II as the\n <i>\n Nichibei Times\n </i>\n . The prewar English section editor of the\n <i>\n <a class=\"encyc notrg\" href=\"/Nichibei_Shimbun_(newspaper)/\" title=\"Nichibei Shimbun (newspaper)\">\n Nichibei Shimbun\n </a>\n </i>\n , the newspaper founded by his father\n <a class=\"encyc notrg\" href=\"/Kyutaro_Abiko/\" title=\"Kyutaro Abiko\">\n Kyutaro\n </a>\n , Abiko was incarcerated in the\n <a class=\"encyc notrg\" href=\"/Topaz/\" title=\"Topaz\">\n Topaz\n </a>\n , Utah, concentration camp and the newspaper shut down after the family's forced removal. After\n <a class=\"encyc notrg\" href=\"/Resettlement_in_Philadelphia/\" title=\"Resettlement in Philadelphia\">\n resettling in Philadelphia\n </a>\n , he returned to San Francisco in January 1946 and resumed publishing the paper in May.
