She specializes in Pacific Northwest history, community history, history of medicine, exhibit development, oral history, and historic preservation. Since 2012, she has served as the project director of\n \n Uprooted: Japanese American Farm Labor Camps During World War II\n \n . A traveling photography exhibition,\n \n Uprooted\n \n examines the involvement of Nikkei in seasonal farm labor through federal photographer Russell Lee's 1942 documentation of four camps in Oregon and Idaho.\n
