Christine Kitano

Christine Kitano , daughter of Harry Kitano, grew up in Los Angeles, California. She earned a BA at the University of California, Riverside, an MFA in Creative Writing at Syracuse University, and is currently a PhD student in English and Creative Writing at Texas Tech University where she studies 20th Century American poetry and Asian American literature. Her poems have appeared in a number of journals and magazines, most recently the Arroyo Literary Review and The Comstock Review , as well as the anthologies Bear Flag Republic: Prose Poems and Poetics from California and Aspects of Robinson: Homage to Weldon Kees . Her first book of poems, Birds of Paradise , was published by Lynx House Press in 2011.
