Susan Nakaoka

Susan Lares Nakaoka received her Masters in Asian American Studies/Social Welfare and a PhD In Urban Planning from UCLA. Her teaching and research interests are Asian American community development, Japanese American History and Crtical Race Social Work. Past research projects include an oral history project that detailed the lives of five Nisei women political activists and a recent case study profiling Asian American Community Development Corporations. Dr. Nakaoka is the Practicum Director and the Associate Director of the Master of Social Welfare program at the UCLA School of Public Affairs.
