Peter Richardson

Peter Richardson lectures on California culture at San Francisco State University. His books include American Prophet: The Life and Work of Carey McWilliams (2005) and A Bomb in Every Issue: How the Short, Unruly Life of Ramparts Magazine Changed America (2009). From 2005 to 2011, he was the founding editorial director of PoliPointPress, which published trade books on politics and current affairs. Before that, he was a communications analyst at the Public Policy Institute of California and an associate professor of English at the University of North Texas. He received a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1991.
