Shiho Imai

Shiho Imai is an Associate Professor of History at the State University of New York at Potsdam. She received her B.A. in English from Sophia University in Tokyo, M.A. in History at Tufts University, and M.A. and Ph.D. in History at Brown University. She is the author of Creating the Nisei Market: Race and Citizenship in Hawai'i's Japanese American Consumer Culture (University of Hawai'i Press, 2010) where she explores the physical and cultural manifestations of "whiteness" in Honolulu's prewar Japanese American society.
