Susan Nakaoka

Susan Nakaoka received her Masters in Asian American Studies/Social Welfare and a PhD In Urban Planning from UCLA. Her teaching and research interests are Asian American community development and Japanese American History. Past research projects include an oral history project that detailed the lives of five Nisei women political activists and a recent case study profiling Asian American Community Development Corporations. Dr. Nakaoka is an Assistant Professor at the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work at the University of Hawai`i.
